The short version
Linktree is the most recognized link-in-bio tool in the world — ~50M users and a brand so strong that 'linktr.ee' is basically synonymous with bio links. The trade-off: it's priced and built for a US/global audience. For Indian creators paying in rupees, you're effectively paying ~3× more than necessary for what you actually use.

Pick Linktree if…
- You need a custom domain like "yourname.com" pointed at your bio page
- You sell to a US/global audience and need Stripe-based payouts
- You rely on third-party integrations Linktree natively supports (Mailchimp, Shopify)
- Brand recognition of the "linktr.ee" URL matters to your audience
Pick Linktrain if…
- You're an Indian creator or small business and want to pay in INR
- You want UPI Autopay so renewals don't fail due to international card blocks
- Your audience is mostly Indian and won't notice or care about the linktr.ee brand
- You're price-sensitive — ₹149/mo vs ₹445/mo effective adds up
- You want proper Indian GST invoices for your accountant
I switched from Linktree after my international card got declined for the third time during a launch. Linktrain charges from my UPI, no surprises.
Common questions
- Can I import my Linktree links to Linktrain?
- Not automatically yet — you'll need to copy links manually. We can help with bulk imports if you have 50+ links; email contact@linktra.in. The setup takes ~10 minutes for a typical bio.
- I have a custom domain on Linktree. Will I lose it if I switch?
- Custom domain support isn't built into Linktrain today — it's on our roadmap. If a custom domain is critical, Linktree Pro is the right choice. For most users, `linktra.in/yourname` is fine.
- Is the Linktrain free plan really free?
- Yes. ₹0, forever, no card required. The only restriction is that handles must contain a dot, underscore, or number (e.g., `anjali.bakes`). Upgrade to Pro for clean handles like `anjalibakes`.
- Are your analytics as good as Linktree's?
- For Free and Pro tiers, roughly equivalent — profile views, link clicks, top links, share events, time-period filters. Linktree Premium adds deeper drilldowns we don't yet match.
- What happens to my Linktree account if I switch?
- Nothing on our end. You can leave it active, or cancel from Linktree's dashboard. Some users keep their old Linktree page up with a redirect note to their new Linktrain page for a few weeks during transition.
